The Azerbaijan national judo team roster for the upcoming World Judo Championships has been announced.

According to Offsideplus.az, citing the Azerbaijan Judo Federation's press service, a total of 13 athletes (9 men and 4 women) will represent the country across 10 weight categories.

Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov is also set to participate in this prestigious tournament. This will be his first competition since the Paris Olympics. Heydarov had missed the European Championships last month due to injury.

The national team will compete under the guidance of Performance Director and head coach of the men's team Richard Trautmann, along with senior coaches Elxan Mammadov, Elchin Ismayilov, Robert Kravchik, and Slavko Tekic. The women’s team will be led by head coach Amina Abdellatif and senior coach Sasha Herkenrath-Wiemar.

The championship will be held from June 13 to 20 at the "László Papp" Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

  • 60 kg: Ahmad Yusifov

  • 66 kg: Ruslan Pashayev

  • 73 kg: Hidayat Heydarov, Rashid Mammadaliyev

  • 81 kg: Zelim Tckaev

  • 90 kg: Eljan Hajiyev, Vugar Talibov

  • 100 kg: Zelim Kotsoyev

  • +100 kg: Ushangi Kokauri

Women's Team:

  • 48 kg: Leyla Aliyeva, Konul Aliyeva

  • 52 kg: Gultaj Mammadaliyeva

  • 57 kg: Fidan Alizadeh

Mixed Team Event:

  • 70 kg: Aytaj Gardashkhanli, Gunel Hasanli
