Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili has won a gold medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

As reported by Offsideplus.az, our athlete defeated Georgian wrestler Solomon Manashvili in a miraculous fashion in the final match.

Although the first half of the final bout was uneventful, the last seconds were full of drama.

Trailing 3-7, Meshvildishvili executed a spectacular move with just 3 seconds left, scoring 4 points. Although the match ended in a 7-7 draw, our wrestler was awarded the gold medal due to the “quality of points” criteria.
