The 8th round of the Misli Premier League has concluded, leaving behind a series of exciting matches. A record attendance for the season was noted last football week, with no fewer than 30,800 fans watching the games live in the stadiums. The round was also memorable for its spectacular comebacks.

"Shamakhi" 3:2 "Shefa"

The round kicked off in Shamakhi, where the local team defeated "Shefa". Despite trailing by two goals at half-time, Azar Baghirov's side managed not only to equalise but also to score the winning goal. "Shefa" continued their unfortunate streak, suffering their sixth consecutive defeat. With this victory, the "Lions" climbed to fifth place.

"Sumgait" 2:1 "Araz-Nakhchivan"

Another comeback was recorded in the day's second match. "Sumgait", who went into the break trailing, managed to secure three points against "Araz-Nakhchivan". Although the quality of the match was not particularly high, the hosts capitalised on several real goal-scoring opportunities and emerged victorious. This win brought "Sumgait"'s points tally to eight, lifting them to eighth place.

"Gabala" 0:4 "Sabah"

Last season's champions, "Sabah", faced no difficulties in their away match against "Gabala", winning 4-0. Aleksey Isayev stood out with a brace, while Coy-Lens Mikels also showcased his talent. This victory allowed "Sabah" to take sole leadership of the league.

"Qarabag" 3:3 "Neftchi"

The central fixture took place at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium, where "Qarabag" hosted "Neftchi". Both the attendance and the dynamics of the match created a true European cup atmosphere. "Neftchi" never fell behind in the scoreline but ultimately could not maintain their advantage. The match ended with no winner, as "Qarabag"'s Kadi Borges salvaged a point for his team with a last-minute goal.

"Imishli" 1:0 "Turan Tovuz"

"Imishli" triumphed over "Turan Tovuz". After the match, Kurban Berdyev acknowledged that the Yevlakh representative deserved the victory. "Imishli" defeated the Turkmen head coach using his own tactics of scoring and defending. Although "Turan Tovuz" remains in fourth place, they are now five points behind the leaders, "Sabah", who have played one game less.

"Ganja" 1:0 "Zira"

The final match of the round took place at Ganja City Stadium. The game between "Ganja" and "Zira" was of a very high standard, resembling an Azerbaijani derby. The atmosphere was particularly impressive, with 13,800 fans watching live. Both teams, especially "Ganja", came very close to winning. "Zira"'s forward Davit Volkov managed to save his team from defeat. Zira's head coach Rashad Sadygov employed a five-man defence system in this match. Following this result, the one-point gap between "Ganja" and "Zira" remained unchanged.
