"Sabah" will face "Manchester United" on September 10 in the first match of the Champions League group stage.

According to Offsideplus.az, this will be the 12th encounter between Azerbaijani and English clubs in European competitions. In the previous 11 matches, "Qarabag" has participated (1 draw, 10 losses). Nine of these matches have been against teams from London.

Our representatives first met "Tottenham" in the group stage of the Europa League during the 2015/16 season (1:3, 0:1). The following season, the debuting Aghdam club lost to "Chelsea" (0:6, 0:4) in the Champions League. In the 2018/19 season, the opponent was "Arsenal" (0:3, 0:1).

In the 2024/25 season, "Qarabag" faced "Tottenham" again (0:3) and last season played against English teams four times. In their first test, they managed to earn a point against "Chelsea" (2:2), but subsequently lost to "Liverpool" (0:6) and faced "Newcastle" twice in the play-off stage, losing (1:6, 2:3).

This time, the upcoming challenge will take place between a different representative and a team from another city. We hope that "Sabah" can return from Manchester with points.
