"We want to participate in as many competitions as possible."

These were the words of Turgay Zeytingoz, the sports director of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation (ABF), in an interview with Offsideplus.az.

The ABF official shared his thoughts on the Women’s World Series in 3x3 basketball held in Baku:

"Feeling the support of our fans during the tournament held in our country is of special importance to us. As you know, under the agreement reached with FIBA, we organise three tournaments in Azerbaijan every summer. In the Baku stage, we were represented by two teams: the Azerbaijan national team and Neftchi SOCAR. Our main goal is to qualify for the Olympic Games. The ranking points collected here play a significant role on the road to the Olympics. That is why we participated with two teams. Our girls fought very well. I hope that the experience they gained will benefit them in future competitions."

It is worth noting that today, Neftchi SOCAR was eliminated from the competition after losing to the Slovenia national team in the quarter-finals.

On the first day of the tournament, the Azerbaijan national team confidently defeated the Benin team but lost to the Brazil national team.
