In the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round, Qarabag defeated Vestri 3-0.

Offsideplus.az reports that Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov addressed journalists and shared his thoughts on the match during the post-game press conference:

"I want to thank the fans. The stands were almost completely full. There was a Champions League atmosphere. From the very first game, we understood that we need to be responsible. This also provided motivation. I told my players this in the dressing room. I had some complaints about the game plan. The fitness levels of some players vary. Thank goodness, we won 3-0. One of the opponent's coaches showed me their analysis sheet. They had analyzed us very well. The intensity of the match will work to our advantage. I congratulate Sabah and Zira. They earned points for the country's coefficient. I wish success to each of our teams."

The specialist explained Montiel's absence from the matchday squad: "It wasn't due to injury. Those who missed out will be able to play if we advance to the next round."

G. Gurbanov also discussed transfer activities:

"We are looking for reinforcements in every position except goalkeeper."

He went on to talk about potential experiments in the return leg:

"I cannot say whether we will rotate the squad or not. We will assess the overall fitness levels. Ali Bashirov has been with us since the first day of pre-season. He will get his chance, either in European competitions or in the domestic league. He is a talented player. Even if he doesn't play, experiencing this level of responsibility is valuable practice for him. We create opportunities for every young player."

Gurbanov also touched upon Zakaria Sawo's performance:

"He is a player with unique qualities. This is not his ideal form yet. He is better in certain elements of the game."

Speaking about Ali Bashirov's situation, he added:

"We will try to do what is best for him. Perhaps staying here is beneficial for him. We are thinking about his future. It is our duty to do the absolute best for him."
