Dutch club Ajax have parted ways with head coach John Heitinga.

As reported by Offsideplus.az, the club announced that Heitinga’s contract — which was valid until June 30, 2027 — has been terminated.

The decision came after Ajax suffered a 0–3 defeat to Istanbul side Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

For now, Fred Grim will take charge of the Amsterdam team on an interim basis.

Ajax remain without a single point after four games in the Champions League group stage and sit 8 points behind league leaders Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
