Zira will participate in the Azerbaijan Cup final for the third time, while Sabah makes its second appearance.
Offsideplus.az reports that this information was released by the Professional Football League.
In the semi-finals, Zira eliminated Turan Tovuz (2-0, 0-0), and Sabah knocked out Qarabag (2-2, 2-1). This marks the third time the settlement club has reached the final; Zira previously participated in the decisive matches of the 2021/2022 and 2023/2024 seasons.
Sabah will play in the final for the second time in its history, and notably for the second consecutive year, as they look to defend their title as last season's winners. The opponents, who will face off on May 13, both played the same team — Qarabag — in their previous final appearances.
In total, 19 teams have played in the final since the competition began in 1992: Qarabag – 12, Neftchi – 11, Shamakhi – 6, Khazar Lankaran, Gabala – 5, Kapaz – 4, Baku, Zira – 3, Kur Nur, Shamkir, Sumqayit, Sabah – 2, Inshaatchi (Baku), Shafa, Khazri, MKT-Araz, Karvan, Khazar (Sumqayit), and Inshaatchi (Sabirabad) – 1.
