NTD Basketball Club has won a historic victory in the Azerbaijan Cup.

According to Offsideplus.az, the team, which performed confidently in the final to claim the championship, is reaping the benefits of years of effort. The club’s president, Behram Abdinov, emphasized the importance of this achievement, reflecting on the difficult journey the team has gone through and the factors that led to their victory. He shared his thoughts on the team’s win in the Azerbaijan Cup:

“This Cup is of great significance to us. The feelings are completely different. Over the past three years, basketball in Azerbaijan has changed completely. In the last two seasons, we were just one step away from the final in both the championship and the Cup. Therefore, this victory is very important for us. The interesting thing is that no one took us seriously this season. Currently, NTD is in the last position in the A group of the league. Such things happen. However, we reshaped our team, prepared well for the games, and earned a well-deserved title. The most exciting part is that we had local 16-year-old players in our roster. Murad Babaev didn’t play in the semifinal or the final. Instead, young players who stepped in for him played a big role in our victory. This makes me very happy.”
