The first matches of the UEFA qualifying rounds have entered the history of Azerbaijani football with a record achievement.

According to Offsideplus.az, our representatives winning all three matches they played during the week marks only the second time such success has been achieved in the history of the country's football. In the UEFA Champions League, Sabah defeated Welsh side TNS 2-0, in the UEFA Europa League, Qarabag triumphed over Iceland's Vestri 3-0, and in the UEFA Conference League, Zira also won against Georgia's Torpedo with the same scoreline (3-0).

Our clubs had only achieved a similar success 13 years ago, on July 11, 2013. At that time, in the Europa League, Inter overcame Mariehamn (2-0), Qarabag beat Metallurg (1-0), and Khazar Lankaran defeated Slima (1-0).

What makes this year's achievement historic is the goal difference. While our clubs scored a total of 4 goals without conceding in 2013, this time they managed to score twice as many goals - 8 - without letting any in.
