The statement came from the Foreign Ministry.

During the speech, it was noted that on September 27 this year, the Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire, fired at the positions of the Republic of Azerbaijan along the line of contact with large-caliber weapons, mortars and artillery, and carried out large-scale military provocations along the frontline.

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided detailed information that the Armenian armed forces purposefully targeted the civilian population and infrastructure in gross violation of the fundamental norms and principles of international law and international humanitarian law.

It was stated that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan carried out counter-offensive and retaliatory measures within the framework of the right to self-defense and in full compliance with international humanitarian law in order to prevent further Armenian military aggression and ensure the safety of civilians living close to the line of contact.

The next aggression of the Armenian side against Azerbaijan is a gross violation of the fundamental norms and principles of international law, UN Security Council resolutions calling for the full and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols. It was emphasized that there is a violation.

He said that the international community, including the OSCE, did not adequately respond to provocative statements and acts of aggression by Armenia, as well as the application of a double standard and selective approach to the implementation of the principles of the Helsinki Final Act only contributed to Armenia's current provocative activities.

In connection with a number of speeches calling for a ceasefire, the international community was informed that the main reason for the violation of the ceasefire and the escalation of the situation is the illegal presence of Armenian forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and the continuation of the conflict.

During the speech, it was noted that the Azerbaijani side hopes that the OSCE Minsk Group will finally fully understand the seriousness of Azerbaijan's intentions and demand that Armenia withdraw from the occupied territories completely and unconditionally to ensure peace in the region. Until then, Azerbaijan will continue its legitimate military operations.

It was reiterated in the speech that the military occupation of Azerbaijani territories will never yield the desired result by Armenia. The settlement of the conflict is possible only on the basis of the norms and principles of international law and full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the internationally recognized borders reflected in the Helsinki Final Act.

In conclusion, it was stated that the sooner Armenia agrees with these realities, the sooner the conflict will be resolved and the states and peoples of the region will be able to benefit from cooperation and economic development.
