"I was well-prepared for the fight," stated Alim Nabiyev, a 7-time World and 3-time European Kickboxing Champion, in an exclusive interview with Offsideplus.az.
Reflecting on his performance at the GFC (Georgian Fighting Championship) and the "Grand Bellagio Championship" held in Batumi, Georgia, Nabiyev detailed his training camp:
"First, I spent time in Thailand, then I moved to Georgia to continue my preparations. My primary goal moving forward remains winning. I aim to become a champion soon and secure a contract with the UFC."
Nabiyev also addressed the pre-fight tension with his Brazilian opponent: "The conflict arose because I didn't like his gestures. During the face-off, he shoved me with his head. I couldn't tolerate such disrespect, so I pushed him back. Even inside the octagon, his behavior was provocative. I told him, 'I will punish you.' I dominated the fight, but once it was over, we showed mutual respect to one another."
The 31-year-old fighter, nicknamed "The Professor," defeated Brazilian rival Jaime Souza after a three-round battle. This marks Alim Nabiyev’s third consecutive victory in professional MMA.
