Azerbaijani chess player Shahriyar Mammadyarov will participate in the upcoming World Rapid and Blitz Team Championship in Hong Kong, China.
According to Offsideplus.az, the 41-year-old grandmaster will defend the colors of the KazChess team.
The squad also includes Alexander Grischuk (Russia), Richard Rapport (Hungary), Wang Hao (China), as well as Bibisara Assaubayeva and Kazibek Nogerbek (both from Kazakhstan).
The competition will also feature world number one Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Fabiano Caruana (USA), and other top stars.
The total prize fund of the World Championship, which will take place from June 16 to 22, is 500,000 euros.
