Azerbaijani chess players will compete in the Open Championship of Turkic-speaking countries held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Offsideplus.az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, that the tournament will take place from May 14 to 17, featuring representatives from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.

Azerbaijan will be represented by three teams:

Men's Team: Ahmad Ahmadzada, Misratdin Iskandarov, Khazar Babazada, Shiroglan Talibov, and Murad Ibrahimli (Captain: Gadir Guseinov).

Women's Team: Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva, and Gulnar Mammadova (Captain: Ilaha Kadimova).

U-16 Team: Khagan Ahmad, Shamsi Karakhanov, Pasham Alizada, and Lala Huseynova (Captain: Farid Abbasov).

The championship will consist of 7 rounds. According to the regulations, each game will follow a 45-minute format with a 30-second increment per move.
