Gabala’s player, Shahin Shahniyarov, has made his debut for the Azerbaijan national team.

According to Offsideplus.az, the young player shared his impressions of his first match with the national team in a statement to the club’s press service:

“I would like to thank my teammates and coaches. I felt very happy when I received the call-up to the national team. My debut match was even more exciting. I am very happy to have played my first game in the national jersey. I can’t evaluate my own performance—that’s for the coaches to decide. However, I know that I need to keep working hard. I hope to secure a regular place in the national team and future matches.”

Shahin started the match in the first XI but was substituted in the 62nd minute.

Additionally, the Azerbaijan vs. Belarus match ended with a 2-0 victory for the visitors.
