The Formula 1 management and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) have confirmed the official calendar for the 2027 championship.

According to Offsideplus.az, the new calendar sees the return of the Portuguese and Turkish Grands Prix, while the number of sprint races will increase to 10. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on the same dates in 2027 as in 2026 — from 24th to 26th September.

Following the announcement of the calendar, FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem highlighted the sport's development:

"The 2027 calendar reflects the growing global popularity of Formula 1. Hosting 24 events across 5 continents, the return of Portugal and Turkey to the calendar, as well as the expansion of sprint races, keeps the sport's standards and fan interest at the highest level. I thank all our partners and dedicated volunteers."

Formula 1's CEO Stefano Domenicali also expressed excitement for the upcoming season:

"The 2027 calendar brings together the world's most famous tracks and dynamic cities. The return of Portugal and Turkey, along with the increase in sprint races to 10, promises fans more intense competition and dramatic moments. I am grateful to all our supporters, the FIA, the teams, and the organisers."
