In the World Cup held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, four Azerbaijani boxers have secured their places in the semifinals.

Offsideplus.az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, that our athletes have guaranteed at least a bronze medal by reaching this stage.

In the 50 kg category, Subhan Mamedov was declared the winner over Rudolf Garboyan (Armenia) after his opponent sustained an injury and could not continue. Mamedov will face Anvarjan Khodjiyev (Kyrgyzstan) in the semifinals.

Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) secured his third consecutive victory by defeating Farukh Tokhtassunov (Kazakhstan) 3:2 in the quarterfinals. He will now test his skills against Kaian Reisi (Brazil) for a spot in the final.

Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) advanced by overcoming Sanjar-Ali Begaliyev (Kazakhstan) with a 4:1 score. He is set to fight Gabriel Guidi Rontani (Italy) on the path to the final.

In the super-heavyweight category (+90 kg), Mahammad Abdullayev left no chance for Luka Pratljačić (Croatia). Winning all three rounds on the judges' scorecards (5:0), he moved into the semifinals, where he will face Omar Shiha (Norway).

It should be noted that the World Cup will conclude on April 26.
