The World Cup in boxing has kicked off in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

Offsideplus.az reports that Azerbaijan national team member Nabi Isgandarov started the ranking tournament with a victory. Competing in the 70 kg weight category, our representative faced Necat Ekinci of Turkey in his opening bout. In a hard-fought match, our boxer defeated his opponent with a 3:2 score (30:27, 28:29, 30:27, 28:29, 29:28).

Isgandarov will face Murodjon Ashuraliyev of Tajikistan in the round of 16. This bout is scheduled for April 22.

The World Cup will conclude on April 26.
