The Junior European Judo Cup held in Poznan, Poland, has concluded.

Offsideplus.az reports that on the final day of the competition, a member of our national team climbed to the highest step of the podium. Competing in the -52 kg weight category, Aysun Mammadova defeated all her opponents to secure the gold medal.

On her path to the final, the judoka eliminated Nina Potok (Poland), Lola Hodson (Great Britain), and Sofia Cordova (Sweden). In the decisive match, Aysun Mammadova defeated another British representative, Kate Chisholm, to win a junior international tournament for the first time in her career.

A total of 267 judokas from 21 countries competed in the event.
