Offsideplus.az reports that two of our representatives took to the mat in women's wrestling at 59 kg. Alyona Kolesnik won over Hungarian Erika Bognar (5:2) and American Mikaela Beck (tush) in group A, while Gunay Gurbanova won over American Sofia Macaluso (tush) and Moldovan Mariana Cherdivara (8:2) in group B. Both our wrestlers advanced to the semi-finals as group leaders. Kolesnik defeated Cherdivara 3:1, and Gurbanova beat Beki 6:0 and advanced to the finals. National members met in a decisive meeting. Gunay, who showed more determined wrestling in the finals, won a 4:2 victory.

Murad Mammadov (63 kg) lost to Aytjan Khalmakhanov from Uzbekistan with a score of 5:14 in the first round. Ziya Babashov, who is in the same weight class as him, advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Gleb Makaranka from Belarus with a score of 2:1, but was defeated by Russian Dinislam Bammatov - 0:8.
