'Zira' head coach Rashad Sadygov shared his thoughts ahead of the second leg against Georgia's 'Torpedo' (Kutaisi) in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.

According to Offsideplus.az, the experienced coach emphasised in a press conference that the opponent is a strong and seasoned team.

Despite having an advantage from the first match, Sadygov stated that the opponent will exert maximum effort to change the course of the game in the return fixture:

"We are facing an experienced and well-known club. We have an advantage from the first match. The opponent has a quality squad, an experienced head coach, and strong fan support. They have considerable experience in European competitions. Tomorrow, they will do everything they can to change the course of the confrontation. We are ready for that. It will be an interesting 90 minutes. I hope we will advance to the next round in regular time."

The head coach also highlighted the importance of his team performing better than in the first match:

"I would like us to be in better physical condition than in the first game. The first official match of the season is always challenging. We know the opponent will play better tomorrow. If we want to progress to the next round, we need to show a higher quality of play both physically and tactically. To reach optimal physical form, we need to play 3-4 official matches."

Rashad Sadygov also spoke about 'Zira's' goals for the new season in the Azerbaijan Premier League. He stated that the aim is to be among the teams competing for medals, emphasising the importance of a successful transfer policy.
