Umarali Rakhmonaliev, the Uzbekistani footballer for Sabah and winner of the 2025-26 Azerbaijan Cup, shared his impressions with Offsideplus.az following the award ceremony.

First of all, tell us about your feelings on this victory. 

This is incredible. We deserved to be champions, and winning both the cup and the league—completing the "double" - is an unbelievable feeling. It brings out immense emotions. I can say that every single player in our team gave their all. They truly gave everything they had so that we could win both the League and the Cup.

Did you imagine the season ending like this? 

To be honest, yes, we did imagine it. But of course, we also knew it would be difficult. At the start of the championship, everything is different—some players are in good form, others are not. However, I believe that all the teams in our league are strong.

Is there anyone in Uzbekistan you would like to specifically thank?

I am very grateful to everyone for the support they have shown me. I would especially like to thank my mother, my father, my sister, and my little brother. You are my life, you are my everything.
