The Azerbaijan U-21 national team secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Gibraltar in their final group match at the Bank Respublika Arena.

Speaking to journalists after the match, U-21 forward Aghadadash Salyanski—who scored a brace in the victory—highlighted the historical significance of the win, as reported by Offsideplus.az:

"I think it was an interesting game. We won, and we deserved it. We really wanted to get this result. Historically, Azerbaijan's U-21 team had never gathered more than 9 points in a qualifying campaign. Today, we had the opportunity to break that record, and thank God, we managed to collect 10 points. It's a true milestone for us."

Salyanski emphasized that increased playing time at the club level played a decisive role in the team's performance:

"One of our main advantages in this camp was that most of our squad players are now getting regular minutes in their respective club first teams. There’s a huge difference between lacking match fitness and actively playing every week. That practice allowed us to showcase our true quality today."

The striker, who also commented on his personal form and senior national team ambitions, added:

"I’ve had a strong start to the season with my club, but I cannot be satisfied with just this. We have crucial games ahead, and I want to keep delivering at my peak. If the call-up to the senior national team comes, God willing, I will be ready."

The match concluded with a 3-0 victory for the home side, courtesy of an early opener from Nihat Ahmadzade (8') followed by Salyanski's double (43', 51').
