At the judo world championship held in Baku, two athletes from the Azerbaijani national team have climbed onto the podium.
According to Offsideplus.az, Zelim Tckayev and Omer Rajabli, competing in the 81kg weight category, finished the tournament with medals.
Tckayev faced Georgian Tato Grigalashvili in the decisive final match. Although he lost to his opponent, he secured the silver medal at the world championship.
In the same weight category, Rajabli competed for the bronze medal and triumphed over Kazakh athlete Abilaykhan Zubanazar, thus claiming the bronze prize of the tournament.
It is worth noting that the mundial, organised at the National Gymnastics Arena, will conclude on October 11. Previously, Azerbaijani judokas Ahmad Yusifov (60kg) won gold, while Rashid Mammadaliyev (73kg) secured a bronze medal.
