The logo, made of a combination of four elements, was not unanimously welcomed by the football community. As for the explanation of the elements used in the logo, the flame "land of fire" is one of the main symbols of Azerbaijan, the wavy part is a sign of the Caspian Sea, the eagle is the general map of Azerbaijan, and the ball surrounded by eagles, flames and waves is the main symbol of football.

Some said that the logo was plagiarism, while others said that it reflected the Baku championship, not Azerbaijan.

Aslan Shahgeldiyev, head of the PFL's Press and Public Relations Department,  told Offsideplus.az that he did not agree with the allegations that the logo was plagiarized:"There is no reason for the logo to be plagiarized. We looked at the logo shared on social networks, it is not similar to what we made. Probably people saw an analogy in the logo because it depicts an eagle. But this does not justify plagiarism. Our logo was designed by our designer. We reject allegations of plagiarism, usually taken from ready-made sites, and usually simply paint the logo. Our designer first uses a simple pencil to create the logo. I repeat, if you say eagle, there are millions of eagle logos in the world. "

The PFL official also said that the "Baku Championship" approach was wrong:  "We do not agree with the expression" Baku Championship ". We have also shown in the explanation of the logo that the term "land of fires" refers to our country, not to Baku. "The land of fire is called Azerbaijan", not Baku. The Caspian Sea also belongs not only to Baku - the Caspian Sea is also in Baku, Lankaran, Nabran, Siyazan and Neftchala. The Caspian Sea is simply characterized by waves in our logs. As for the eagle, it is a bird that expresses strength, pride and arrogance. The map of our homeland has always been like an eagle. I think there are enough national shades in our new logo. "

Although Aslan Shahgeldiyev took a normal approach to the criticism of the logo, he said that the idea of ​​"deleting money" terrified them:The worst thing is that some people write that "we have wiped out the money." We are talking about 10, 20, 30 thousand. Do you know what this means? This is the monthly salary budget of all employees of the PFL. It is illegal to write slanderous opinions about people you do not know without appreciating the hard work of those who work hard and suffer for it. The logo was created by our own designer and is the product of his halal work. I agree that private companies make 30,000, 40,000 logos for some organizations. Obviously, we do not have the budget to allocate funds to any private company to make a logo for us. The logo did not cost us anything.It was designed by our designer, and the amount he will receive in exchange for the logo is his monthly salary. "

Shahgeldiyev's response to the baseless accusations of sports journalists about "money laundering" was harsh:

It's normal for fans to write about "money laundering", they are fans, they can write a lot. It is unfortunate that some journalists have written on the same topic. It is not right to write something defamatory without any research or information. If someone is guilty, let him investigate and write. Now, if I lie and say that the journalist received 200 azn from someone to write that status, how will it be, will he like it? However, I do not believe that money was taken to write that status. But I can think the same, I can say the same thing. Again, if a fan writes, I understand. It is not right for a journalist to write without research and without any basis.
If you don't like it, write that I don't like it. If you want to criticize, please. It is very normal for someone not to like our logo. But slander is not normal. If you are talking about "deleting money", name it, write who deleted it, so that we know and give a specific answer. Maybe you mean me? Should we give up our work and take you to court now? No, it's a shame. You need to think when you write something. If they mean me when I say 'money laundering', I can write the same status - more accurate, more accurate, more detailed and proven, and even more insulting if necessary.
