"It was an interesting game."

Azerbaijani footballer Vusal Isgandarli, who plays for the Albanian club Partizani, made these remarks in a statement to Offsideplus.az.

The 30-year-old forward discussed his team’s performance against Tirana in the 24th round of the Superliga: "We knew the derby would be like this. As much as we dominated the first half, the opponent was just as strong in the second. The team has significantly improved following the new transfers and the arrival of the new sporting director. Hopefully, our main goal is to secure a spot in the European competitions."

Isgandarli, who found the back of the net in the 37th minute, mentioned that the goal was expected: "I truly believed I would score. In fact, my first goal was quite spectacular, but it was disallowed by VAR for offside. Throughout the match, I still felt I would score again.

We had practiced similar scenarios many times during training. We always say that regardless of who scores, the most important thing is the three points. In this victory, it was clear how determined every member of the team was to secure those points."

It is worth noting that the match ended in a 2:0 victory for Isgandarli's side. Currently, Partizani sits in 5th place in the league table with 33 points.
