Gara Garayev is set to begin a new role within the Azerbaijan U-21 national team.

According to Offsideplus.az, the experienced former midfielder will serve as a performance analyst for the squad.

In addition to Garayev's appointment, Rashad Huseynov has also joined the staff as an assistant coach to head coach Rashad Eyyubov.

The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) officially confirmed the appointments on its website today.

It is worth noting that Gara Garayev most recently played for Araz-Nakhchivan. He spent the vast majority of his career at Qarabag FK and also had a stint with Neftchi Baku.
