Qarabag defender Bence Varkonyi has shared his impressions about receiving his first call-up to the Hungary national team on the club's official website.

The 24-year-old footballer expressed his joy at being summoned to the national team:

"I was very happy when I learned that I would be called up to the national team. I received this news with great happiness. I believe that regardless of the level, every person who starts in sports has the dream and goal of one day fighting for their country and wearing the national team's jersey."

Varkonyi, who joined the Agdam club this summer, emphasised that this transfer played a significant role in his national team call-up:

"Transferring to Qarabag this summer was a big step for me. I wanted to prove myself abroad, in a good team. This likely played a role in my first call-up to the national team. I am very grateful to the club for supporting me in every matter. I am trying to show my best performance to justify the trust placed in me. Of course, I have goals both as a team and individually, and I will do my best to achieve them."

It is worth noting that the Hungary national team, competing in the UEFA Nations League, will host Ukraine on September 25 and Georgia on October 2. They will also visit Northern Ireland on September 28 and the Ukraine national team on October 5.
