Reports had circulated claiming that former Azerbaijan national team footballer Javid Huseynov would continue his career at Neftchi.

According to Offsideplus.az, it was alleged that the veteran footballer had received an invitation to join the club as an assistant coach.

In response to our inquiry, Neftchi stated that the information being circulated does not reflect the truth.

It should be noted that Javid Huseynov served as Kurban Berdyev’s assistant at Turan Tovuz during the 2023–24 season.

He has also worked as head coach of Shamakhi and Sabail in the Misli Premier League.
