Zira, currently just a step away from clinching the silver medals in the Misli Premier League, has scored its 350th goal in the Azerbaijan Championships.
According to Offsideplus.az, the capital city club hit this milestone during yesterday’s Matchday 31 fixture against Sumgayit, which ended in a 3-1 victory.
Georgi Papunashvili opened the scoring in that match, becoming the player to net the club’s jubilee goal.
Known as the “Eagles,” Zira has scored 193 goals at home and 159 away in domestic league competitions. Under the guidance of Rashad Sadygov, the team becomes the 12th club in Premier League history to score 350 or more goals.
It’s also worth noting that Zira’s first-ever goal in the Azerbaijan Championship came on August 9, 2015, in a home match against AZAL (1-0), scored by Victor Igbekoyi.
