The main race of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has ended.

Offsideplus.az reports that Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who took pole position the other day, did not give his rivals a chance in the race either.

M. Verstappen, who also set the fastest lap of the race, thus scored a hat-trick in Baku.

Mercedes driver George Russell took 2nd place.

Carlos Sainz completed the podium. He managed to get on the podium for the first time in his Williams career.

McLaren driver Oscar Piastre, the championship leader, crashed into the barriers after the first lap and was out of the race.

His teammate and closest rival Lando Norris had to settle for 7th place.

Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc finished the race in 8th and 9th places, respectively.
