In the first match of the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round, Qarabag defeated Vestri 3-0.

According to Offsideplus.az, after the match, Qarabag's head coach Qurban Qurbanov answered journalists' questions and commented on the game:

"I thank the fans. The stands were almost full. There was a Champions League atmosphere. From the first match, we understood that we must be responsible. This also motivated us. I informed my players about this in the dressing room. I was not satisfied with the game plan. Some players are at different levels of preparation. Thankfully, we won 3-0. One of the opposing coaches showed an analysis list. They had done a very good analysis. The tense nature of the game will work in our favour. I congratulate Sabah and Zira. They earned points for the country’s ranking. I wish success to each of our teams."
