A total of 28 teams will compete in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. Making their tournament debut, Azerbaijani champions Sabah are placed among the 14 unseeded clubs.

Offsideplus.az reports that 13 of the 14 seeded teams our representative could face in the opening round have already been confirmed. The list includes the following clubs:

Kairat (Kazakhstan), Shamrock Rovers (Ireland), KuPS (Finland), Drita (Kosovo), Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), Borac (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Vikingur (Iceland), Universitatea Craiova (Romania), Riga (Latvia), Klaksvik (Faroe Islands), Flora (Estonia), Larne (Northern Ireland), and Petrocub (Moldova).

The 14th potential opponent could be TNS of Wales, depending on the outcome of the Armenian championship. If Ararat wins the title there, TNS will drop into the seeded pot and become a possible opponent for Sabah. However, if Noa secures the championship, they will edge out the Welsh side to take that seeded spot themselves. Even in this scenario, Sabah cannot face the Armenian side due to UEFA's standing regulation that keeps clubs from Azerbaijan and Armenia separated during draws.

The draw for the first qualifying round of the Champions League will take place on June 16, with the first-leg and second-leg matches scheduled for July 7-8 and July 14-15, respectively.
