Bedri Merich has been appointed as the coordinator and head coach for the boys' U-14 national teams at the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation.

Offsideplus.az reports that the Turkish specialist has spent the past three seasons working in the Azerbaijan Basketball League. Having guided Ganja and Sheki, he led Sheki to a bronze medal finish in the national championship.

Speaking about his new role, Merich outlined his main ambitions:

"Our primary goal is to identify talented young players, support their development, and prepare them for higher age categories in the national team system. We aim to build a long-term development model that secures the future of Azerbaijani basketball."
