The final day of the Minifootball World Championship took place yesterday, delivering thrilling matches and unforgettable moments.
According to Offsideplus.az, the day began with the third-place match, where Serbia defeated Montenegro 3-0 to claim the bronze medals.
Following the game, a vibrant closing ceremony was held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Fans were treated to a musical performance by People’s Artist Faig Aghayev and singer Mardan Kazimov, energizing the crowd ahead of the highly anticipated final.
In the decisive match, Azerbaijan faced Hungary. Under the guidance of head coach Elshad Guliyev, the Azerbaijani national team triumphed 4-2, securing the world championship title for the first time in its history.
This marks a historic milestone for Azerbaijan, who also won gold at the 2022 European Championship.
