"I came to this competition to win a gold medal," said Omar Salmanov, Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestler competing in the 48 kg weight category, during a press conference.

He evaluated his performance at the U-17 World Championship held in Baku: "My main goal was to become the champion. Unfortunately, due to certain mistakes, I missed out on the final. However, I will replace the bronze medal with a gold prize in future competitions. I couldn't let the bronze medal slip through my fingers. I entered the match fully prepared. I am very happy that I did not finish the competition without a medal."

It is worth noting that Omar Salmanov secured the bronze medal by defeating Giorgi Chikvadzey (7:1) in the match for third place.
