The Azerbaijan U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling national team is continuing its preparations for the Zafar Cup to be held in Antalya, Turkey.
Offsideplus.az reports that an open training session for the team took place at the wrestling hall of the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Federation officials and the athletes' personal coaches observed the session, which was held under the leadership of head coach Rafig Huseynov.
Regarding the preparations, Rafig Huseynov stated: "The 10-day training camp we held in Uzbekistan was very beneficial. We are currently working on the mistakes we identified, and the team is in optimal shape. The purpose of holding an open training session is to allow personal coaches to monitor their students' progress. When the work at clubs is done at a high level, it makes our job easier as well. The federation leadership provides full material and moral support. I believe these youngsters will worthily represent our country at the 2032 Olympic Games."
The Zafar Cup tournament will take place from April 12 to 14.
