The president of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlyev, made statements about the referee who made biased decisions during the match of an Azerbaijani athlete at the European Boxing Championship among schoolchildren held in Serbia last month.
Offsideplus.az reports that the IBA president shared this on his social media account. He said the following:
“This is both a call from the IBA and the desire of the boxing family for clean boxing. Anyone who violates the values of sports should not be there. Neither in the IBA nor in sports. Thus, we seriously prevent such cases.”
U. Kremlyev emphasized that the referee who directed the fight will be banned from boxing for life: “I support the boxer’s coach. But his actions are also not right, and should not be like this. There are special bodies that make decisions for this - disciplinary and ethics commissions. The referee should be banned for life.”
It should be noted that in the final match between Yusif Agakishiyev and local Viktor Majstrovich, who competed in the 75 kg weight category at the European Championship, the chief referee from North Macedonia, Stefan Subalevski, made biased decisions in favor of the opponent, and the victory was awarded to the Serbian athlete in the match that was stopped halfway.
