Sabah has etched its name into the history of Azerbaijani football as the fourth team to qualify for the group stage of European competitions.

According to Offsideplus.az, the capital club secured its place by overcoming Finland's KuPS in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League (1-0, 2-0), ensuring at least a spot in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.

Making its debut in European competitions for the 2023/24 season, Sabah achieved this milestone in its fourth season on the international stage. The specific tournament (Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League) in which the Owls will compete will be determined based on the results of the upcoming rounds.

It is noteworthy that prior to this, only Qarabag (12 times), Gabala (2 times), and Neftchi (1 time) had managed to reach the group stage of European competitions in Azerbaijani football.
