Rafael Fiziev has spoken out about his fight with Charles Oliveira that never took place.

According to Offsideplus.az, the 32-year-old athlete recalled those days as follows:

"When my fight with Charles Oliveira in Brazil was cancelled, I was devastated. But my injury was very serious. It wasn't just a slight issue; I tore almost all my ligaments. ACL, PCL, collateral ligaments… they were all gone. The meniscus was also damaged in two places. After that, there was a rehabilitation process of several months, even a bit longer. Then I went to Vegas, and they treated me excellently at the UFC PI. But I’ve recovered now, and everything is on track.

I was very surprised that Oliveira defeated Gamrot so easily. I didn't expect it at all. I wouldn't have thought an elite grappler like Gamrot could be taken down and dominated so effortlessly."

Fiziev also stated that he considers the lightweight division to be the strongest:

"The lightweight division is such a weight class... the vast majority of men in the world are actually around 80–85 kilos. Most of these guys cut down to 70 kilos. That’s why the competition is incredibly high.

In my opinion, lightweight is the most elite division in the UFC. Others might take offense, but this is the reality. When you look at the Top 15, everyone is incredibly dangerous. Even some guys outside the Top 15 are very dangerous. Potentially, everyone is equally dangerous."
