Araz-Nakhchivan has announced its new head coach.
According to Offsideplus.az, a contract has been signed with Andrey Demchenko for a period of “5 months + 1 year.” The club’s press service reported this information. Additional details regarding the assistants of the Ukrainian head coach will be announced later.
Demchenko, who began his coaching career in 2011, has managed the clubs Imeks, Metalurh (Zaporizhzhia), Veres, Lviv, Metalist 1925, and Bukovyna in his home country.
In different years, he also coached Obod of Uzbekistan, as well as Georgia’s Dila and Dinamo Batumi. Before arriving in Baku, the 50-year old specialist was the head coach of Kazakhstan’s Zhenis.
