Interview with the young goalkeeper of “Qarabag” Sadiq Mammadzadeh to Offsideplus.az
– Where is the process regarding your transfer to “Difai”?
– The process is about to be completed, only the contract has not been signed. I am currently undergoing physiotherapy due to my injury. That is why the contract issue has been delayed a bit. I think the process will be completed in a maximum of ten days.
– It was expected that you would transfer to the Serbian club “Belgrade”. Why did you choose “Difai”?
– Yes, I had the Serbian option. However, in order to further improve myself both mentally and in terms of language skills, I had to temporarily abandon “Belgrade”.
– When you say temporary, how long do you mean?
– Maybe we will return to this issue next year. So the Serbian option is still valid. Anyway, my idea is to play in Europe. But for now, I have to stay here for a year so that it will be more comfortable for me in the future. If I get an offer from a good place in two or three years, I will definitely accept it. In short, I have no intention of staying in Azerbaijan.
– I think there was also the option of “Imishli”.
– Yes.
– But why didn’t it work out?
– There was little chance to play there. You know, I didn’t play much for the “Qarabag” club in Agdam. I played six or seven games in the last year or so. Even though I didn’t have much chance to play, this year gave me a lot. Training with professional footballers like Zubir and Kokhalski was a great experience for me. From now on, I want to improve myself even more. Right now, I need playing experience. That’s why I chose “Difai”.
– Do you think the experience you will gain in the First League will be enough on the way to Europe?
– It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s a lower or higher league at the moment. The main thing is to play. That’s why I chose “Difai” just for that.
Moreover, looking ahead, the level of the First League has now increased. The struggle for promotion to the Premier League is also having a positive impact on the process. I think it will be good for me here.
