Offsideplus.az reports that the issue of increasing the number of clubs in the National Premier League was discussed at the meeting. It was decided to increase the number of teams from 10 to 12 from the 2025/2026 season. The rules and format of the championship will be discussed at the next meeting of the Executive Committee.
At the same time, it was decided to cancel the legionary limit in the Misli Premier League from the 2025/2026 season. From the new season, the following criteria will be applied to the legionary limit:
There can be a maximum of 17 foreign players in the order sheet of the game.
11 foreign players can play on the field at the same time.
The fee for Legionnaire players will be as follows:
From 1 legionnaire to 7 legionnaires: 5000 (five thousand) AZN
From 8 to 12: 10,000 (ten thousand) AZN
From 13 to 15: 100,000 (one hundred thousand) AZN
16 and above: 200,000 (two hundred thousand) AZN
The levy will apply to all legionnaires, regardless of whether they are members of their country's national team or not.
Clubs with local players will be paid a bonus with a special calculation method. Bonuses will be given from the funds obtained from the legionary fee.
