The UEFA Europa League second qualifying round clash between Qarabag and CSKA Sofia ended in a goalless draw, 0-0.

After the match, CSKA Sofia's head coach Hristo Yanev addressed journalists at a press conference.

Welcomed with applause and congratulations by Bulgarian media representatives upon entering the press room, Yanev first evaluated the match:

"It was a very important game. My players fought well on the pitch. With their families watching, the motivation of my players was quite high. I believe we will have the same determination in the return match as well."

Touching on tactical moves and the team's morale, Yanev stated they did not want to take risks:

"We prepare for each game individually. Some players had grievances, so we did not want to take risks. We will prepare better for the return match."

When asked whether a draw against Qarabag could be considered a success, the coach acknowledged the strength of the opponent:

"Qarabag is a very strong team. The situation on the pitch could have been different."

The Bulgarian coach also mentioned the impact of fans, admitting that the full stands affected his players:

"Even though our fans were not with us, we felt their support. However, the rival fans filling the stands made my players feel somewhat uneasy."

Finally, clarifying his tense reactions during the match, Yanev did not forget to apologise:

"I am an emotional person. I react at times by protesting because I love my job very much. If it appeared differently from the outside, I apologise for that."
