Players from the Qarabag Football Academy will take part in a training camp at one of Italy’s most historic clubs, Udinese.
According to Offsideplus.az, citing the press service of the Aghdam-based club, this opportunity is the result of growing ties between the two sides.
Qarabag and Udinese are now evolving into strategic partners. The initial stage of this collaboration will focus on the exchange of knowledge and experience between the clubs’ academies.
The participation of Qarabag’s youth and junior players in Udinese’s training environment will provide them with vital international exposure, helping them gain European-level experience and improve both technically and tactically.
This significant partnership has been made possible largely thanks to the personal initiative of Qarabag president Tahir Gozal. His friendship with the Pozzo family—the owners of Udinese—has laid the foundation for this strategic alliance.
Tahir Gozal’s long-term vision for Qarabag, his emphasis on youth development, and his efforts to enhance the club’s international image have played a key role in making this collaboration a reality.
The active phase of the cooperation will begin at the start of the new season, following the summer break in youth leagues, with academy players traveling to Italy.
The partnership will not be limited to the academy level. In the future, it will include exchange programs for coaches and club staff, sharing best practices across departments, and launching joint projects.
It’s worth noting that Udinese is one of the clubs that signed the declaration for the alliance formed in Baku last November. The initiative was supported by the COP29 Presidency, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Qarabag, and the European Club Association (ECA).
