An unfortunate incident occurred during the quarterfinal match of the AFFA U-15 Girls League between Shefa and Umid (Ganja) on May 4.

According to Offsideplus.az, the controversy unfolded in the 35th minute of the game.

First, Umid’s head coach, Emin Hasanov, was shown a second yellow card and sent off from the technical area after protesting the referee's decision.

Immediately after that, tensions flared between Umid assistant coach Hurzad Ismayilova and Shefa player Ebru Emirova. The two became involved in a heated verbal exchange and reportedly insulted each other on the field, leading to an escalation of the situation.

The match referee responded by showing red cards to both the coach and the player for their conduct.

At today’s meeting of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee, the following suspensions were issued:

  • Emin Hasanov – 1 match
  • Hurzad Ismayilova – 5 matches
  • Ebru Emirova – 4 matches

The incident has raised concerns over discipline and sportsmanship in youth football competitions and is expected to spark further discussion within Azerbaijani football circles.
