Former defender of the Azerbaijan national team and "Neftçi" club, Yaşar Vahabzade, has turned 65.
According to Offsideplus.az, the AFFA (Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan) leadership met with the veteran footballer on this special occasion.
AFFA General Secretary Cahangir Farajullayev and Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev congratulated the jubilarian, conveying their best wishes and warm words.
A commemorative gift was presented to the veteran footballer.
It should be noted that Y. Vahabzade played 263 matches for "Neftçi" during his two stints with the team in 1983–1989 and 1993–1997. After retiring as a player, he served as head coach for Azerbaijan’s U-19 and U-21 national teams, as well as the “Kəpəz” football club.
