"We are trying to sort things out," says Qarabag Head Coach Gurban Gurbanov

Qarabag’s head coach, Gurban Gurbanov, shared his thoughts on current transfer activities during a recent press conference, as reported by Offsideplus.az.

The experienced specialist addressed the challenges of the transfer window and the influence of intermediaries: "Every player can be understood. My criticism is directed more towards the constant phone calls than the players themselves. Everyone is trying to mediate from different sides, acting as if they are the only ones thinking about the player’s future. A footballer should have only one master."

Gurbanov also noted the high level of interest in Azerbaijani players: "There is interest in all of them. Perhaps even more so in Azerbaijani players. The number of local managers has increased, and there is curiosity from abroad as well. They are in high demand."

Regarding specific signings, he stated that the club has not yet entered the final stages of negotiation with any particular player: "We are currently in talks for every position. We are interested in a wide range of players. Searches are ongoing for the goalkeeping line, attack, midfield, and defense. We want to increase the depth of the squad in certain positions."

Qarabag’s Winter Schedule: The team began its winter preparations on January 3. Training will continue in Baku until January 10. The second stage of the training camp will take place in the Belek region of Antalya, Turkey, from January 10 to 17.
