Azerbaijan's female wrestler Gunay Gurbanova has won a silver medal at the U-23 World Championship held in Las Vegas, USA.

According to Offsideplus.az, competing in the 59 kg weight category, our representative faced Ukrainian Alina Filipovich in the final. The tense match ended in a 4-4 draw, but the opponent claimed victory based on the last point principle.

With this result, Gurbanova finished the championship in second place.

It is worth noting that earlier, our Greco-Roman wrestlers Elmir Aliyev (60 kg) won a silver medal, while Ruslan Nurullayev (77 kg) secured a bronze medal.

The tournament will conclude on October 18.
