The World Championship for veteran wrestlers has concluded in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

According to Offsideplus.az, Azerbaijani representatives secured three silver medals at the competition. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Fikret Bagirov (70 kg) and Elgiz Mammadov (100 kg) reached the podium, while Elchin Hasanov (70 kg) achieved the same in freestyle wrestling.

The championship also featured four referees from our country. First-class international referee Elman Ismayilov primarily served as the mat chairman, ensuring fairness throughout the matches. Afghan Habibov, Chinara Jafarova, and Rashad Abdulov not only officiated as referees but also took exams to obtain international qualifications.
